love one

A Voice for the Fatherless.

SCROLL DOWN

love one

A Voice for the Fatherless.

One church. one family. one child.

Love One is the vision to rally God's people to respond to the desperate need to find families for the 3,000 children waiting for adoption in Michigan. The heart of Love One is to call every Christian church in Michigan to find one family to adopt one child. Our ultimate goal is to decrease the number of children needing adoption from 3,000 to zero. We will accomplish this vision if one family, from each Michigan church will commit to love one.

"Father to the fatherless, defender of widows—this is God, whose dwelling is holy.
God places the lonely in families" (Psalm 68:5-6).

The Need

According to Michigan Adoption Resource Exchange (mare.org), more than 3,000 children in Michigan are waiting for permanent, loving homes to call their own each year. We believe it is the responsibility of the church, God's people, to represent the heart of The Father, and foster, adopt, and support children who don't have a family. There are many ways you can answer the cry of these children.

"Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for the fatherless and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you" (James 1:27).

Love One is an awareness campaign, started by Mount Hope Church in Lansing, MI in 2017. Pastor Kevin Berry and the people of Mount Hope Church recognize the growing need in Michigan for families to adopt, foster, or support children without families and help the agencies that work to care for these at-risk children. Mount Hope Church partners with St. Vincent's Catholic Charities and Bethany Christian Services in order to provide hope and help to foster children and those awaiting adoption.
